Description:
Come join us for the summer working with a small startup team to develop a novel robotics
platform, and learn first hand what medical device development is like.
Own a project that contribute to the team’s overall goals. Be responsible for working with the
team to clearly understand the problem, develop appropriate solutions, and ensure project
completion before your internship ends.
Help out with a variety of smaller projects on an as needed basis, pitch in to fill the gaps and gain
experience with a large variety of development activities supporting the team’s goal of bringing
our device to clinical trial.
Document your work in accordance with Occam’s quality management system.
Identify gaps and pitch in as needed to ensure that the team meets their goals and objectives.
Skills:
Experience designing, building, and troubleshooting mechanical systems, preferably
electromechanical systems.
Familiarity with using CAD (SolidWorks preferred) for creating detailed parts, assemblies, and
drawings for manufacturing. Familiarity with using GD&T as a bonus.
Strong communication skills. Ability to communicate clearly and consistently about your work,
and to seek feedback and ask for help as appropriate.
Ability to organize ones own day to day work and proprieties, ability to develop and execute
simple project plans is preferred.
Requirements:
Pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline.
Experience working on project teams, preference for experience outside of standard coursework.
Comfortable working with high levels of ambiguity and an ability to convert that into tangible
outcomes
