At Forge we are enabling the energy transition by building an entirely new kind of residential HVAC company from the ground up. Heat pumps are the future of home heating and cooling, and we’re on a mission to bring them to every home in Greater Boston (and beyond). To do that, we’re building our own team of top-notch installers, electricians and ops team to keep everything running smoothly.

We are looking to add more hardworking Electricians to our crew. Licensed? Great. Still an apprentice but can wire a heat pump like a pro? Also great. At a minimum, you must have experience with electrical projects as it relates to HVAC installations, repairs, replacements, etc. and can work efficiently and effectively on our jobs.

The Important Stuff:
Starting at $30+/hr for Apprentice level and up to $56/hr for Journey or Masters who can run our jobs without oversight. Regardless of license or years of experience, you won’t get a company van on day one — you need to show us you can crush the work first (usually 2-4 weeks). Prove you can do the work you’re signing up to do, and the van, tools, and the freedom that goes with being a crew lead, is yours!

What you’ll do:

• Basic heat pump wiring;
• Wire a variety of heating and cooling equipment like condensers, air handlers, heat kits, thermostats, etc.;
• Assess, recommend and install a variety of electrical components;
• Performing emergency repairs promptly and efficiently;
• Ensuring compliance with appliance standards and with OSHA;
• Complying with service standards, work instructions and customers' requirements;
• Partner with project coordinators and operations managers on our office team.

Who You Are:

• You likely have 3-5 years of relevant electrical experience, but if you’re a rockstar with less (or more!), let’s talk;
• At a minimum, you are enrolled in or have completed an accredited electrician apprenticeship program;
• You have a solid foundation of skills wiring heat pumps, condensers, air handlers, thermostats;
• You work hard, efficiently and produce quality work – quality is most important but pace is a quick second;
• You don’t need your hand held but aren’t afraid to ask questions as you’re learning (and can’t wait to teach the next person);
• You have a strong teamwork mindset;
• You can handle (or learn) a bunch of stuff at once without freaking out or dropping balls, but know when to raise your hand and ask for help;
• You learn and grow fast, ask good questions, and take initiative (whether you’re an apprentice or Master);
• You stay calm when things hit the fan and jump in to help fix it, even if it’s not your fault. You’re a no drama person;
• You know what good service looks and feels like to our customers. You’re good with people and are extremely professional with homeowners;
• You’re comfortable with learning and using new tech tools (G-Suite, Slack, Zoom, scheduling software, whatever we throw at you);
• You have a valid drivers license and are able to submit to a background check and drug test (that does not screen for marijuana).
