About the role
Summer internships will range between the months of May and September depending on university schedules. Internship is full-time and on-site in Mountain View, CA.
The Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC) Engineering team at Muon is responsible for all GNC on the spacecraft, ranging from sensor and actuator selection to system-level pointing analysis and even writing GNC flight software! Hardware-focused interns can look forward to owning a project from start to finish which will involve developing a new testing capability for a GNC component. Responsibilities
- Take ownership of a new or existing test capability
- Design, improve, and automate test setups and ground support equipment
- Conduct analysis to support both development and testing phases
- Engage in testing and measurement activities in the lab, either on the bench or within a clean room environment
Qualifications
- Classwork in mechanical or aerospace engineering or applied physics
- Basic programming skills
- Experience with hardware/software integration, mechatronics projects, etc
- Interest in spacecraft attitude sensors and actuators
Nice-to-have Skills
- Previous internship or co-op experience
- Previous experience on technical project teams (i.e. Rocket club, formula SAE, solar car, etc.)
Pay range
Bachelor's $40/hour
Master's $45/hour Next
PhD $50/hour
