About Veev

Veev is leading the transformation of the construction industry with an innovative approach to modular home construction. Veev’s prefabricated closed-panel systems allow homes to be assembled efficiently on-site while delivering a more sustainable and higher-quality final product than traditional construction. As a new subsidiary of Lennar, Veev leverages the strength and scale of its parent company while maintaining the speed and disruptive approach of its roots as a Silicon Valley-based startup. Veev has developed a vertically integrated approach that involves multidisciplinary collaboration across real estate, design, development, engineering, manufacturing, and construction.

The Role

As a Material Flow Process Engineer at Veev, you will lead efforts to streamline warehouse and material flow operations from inbound receiving to outbound staging and kitting. You will design optimized layouts and workflows, implement standard work, and collaborate across supply chain and production teams. A key part of this role is training and enabling production teams to handle materials efficiently, follow kitting best methods, and align with lean practices. You will be a cross-functional bridge between warehouse operations and the factory floor, ensuring that materials are delivered correctly, efficiently, and with minimal waste.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze current-state processes for receiving, put-away, storage, picking, packing, and staging; identify bottlenecks and implement improvements.
  • Design and implement efficient material-flow layouts (racking, supermarkets, zone picking, consolidation, replenishment) aligned to takt time and pull signals.
  • Own the PFEP (Plan for Every Part): define packaging, presentation, min/max levels, and replenishment triggers.
  • Optimize kitting for JIT/JIS delivery; standardize kit configurations and improve end-to-end traceability.
  • Streamline in-plant material movement to reduce waste and improve point-of-use accessibility and ergonomics.
  • Build and maintain KPI dashboards (dock-to-stock, pick accuracy, LPH, OTIF to line, inventory accuracy, cycle time) using WMS/ERP data with Tableau, Excel, SQL.
  • Ensure master data accuracy and governance across WMS/ERP/MES/PLM systems.
  • Develop, maintain, and audit SOPs and visual standards; train teams and enforce safety, 5S, and lean practices.
  • Lead kaizen events and CI initiatives targeting space utilization, labor productivity, and material accuracy.
  • Model space/capacity and simulate future-state flows (e.g., AutoCAD/Visio, AnyLogic/FlexSim/Python) to support growth planning.
  • Conduct PFMEA/risk assessments on new or changed flows; create contingency plans for disruptions.
  • Evaluate, cost-justify, implement, and commission technologies (barcode/RFID standards, AGVs/AMRs, AS/RS, pick-to-light/voice, automation, WMS enhancements).
  • Manage project timelines, charters, and stakeholder communication for layout or system changes.
  • Integrate with NPI/ECO processes to ensure new/revised parts are correctly flowed, stored, and kitted before launch.
  • Partner cross-functionally with operations, engineering, planning, logistics, and suppliers/3PLs to align packaging, delivery frequency, and data accuracy.
  • Define and manage reverse-logistics flows for returns, rework, scrap, and obsolescence.
  • Sustain improvements through structured change control and periodic audits.
  • Develop and deliver hands-on training for production teams on material handling, kit/ parts consumption.

Must-Have Skills and Competencies

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field.
  • Proven years of experience in warehouse operations, material flow, or logistics engineering.
  • Strong understanding of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or similar continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Proficient in process mapping tools (e.g., Visio, Lucidchart), data analytics, and warehouse KPIs.
  • Experience with WMS/ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, etc.).
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Forklift and OSHA safety knowledge is a plus.
