VulcanForms Inc. seeks a Sr. Analyst, Production Control & Planning for our Devens, MA location.
Job Purpose
The Senior Analyst, Production Control & Planning leads the development and execution of a reliable, data-driven machine build and production plan that drives forecasting, materials availability, and on-time delivery. This role ensures that planned builds match actual execution by aligning closely with cross-functional partners, tracking progress through real-time dashboards, and proactively resolving risks. By integrating planning systems with shop floor operations and external vendors, the Senior Analyst helps achieve zero-defect execution and uninterrupted production flow. They also standardize workflows, build planning tools, and drive strategic process improvements that scale with the business—empowering teams to move faster, build smarter, and deliver better.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and execute the 12-month machine build plan, ensuring alignment between planned and actual machine builds while minimizing last-minute changes or disruptions.
- Create tools and dashboards to track progress to plan, surface execution risks, and communicate updates to stakeholders across Operations, Supply Chain, and Leadership.
- Ensure zero-defect machine build execution by working cross-functionally to validate material readiness, resource alignment, and schedule accuracy.
- Lead production and materials planning by analyzing MRP output and developing replenishment strategies that ensure on-time work order starts and smooth factory operations.
- Collaborate closely with Warehouse, Procurement, Quality, and Production to resolve shortages, prevent delays, and improve throughput.
- Monitor and report on production performance, including external vendor progress, internal build schedules, and delivery timelines.
- Standardize planning and machine build processes through clear documentation, training materials, and workflow design to support repeatable, scalable operations.
- Drive 1–3 strategic process improvement initiatives to enhance department-level planning norms, optimize resource utilization, and improve factory efficiency.
- Continuously improve MRP and planning tools, ensuring accurate inputs, clean data, and effective exception handling.
- Support cross-functional planning cadence, including syncs with key departments, delivery forecast updates, and leadership reporting.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in manufacturing, supply chain, production planning, or operations within a machine assembly or high-mix manufacturing environment
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- Proven experience with production, supply, or demand planning, including use of ERP systems (Epicor experience strongly preferred)
- Excellent analytical and creative problem-solving skills to identify inefficiencies, forecast demand, resolve constraints, and drive improvements
- Strong hands-on experience with planning tools and dashboards (Excel/Google Sheets required; Looker, Tableau, or Power BI is a plus)
- Demonstrated ability to lead or contribute to process improvement initiatives and create scalable documentation or SOPs
- Strong cross-functional collaboration and communication skills, with experience partnering with Procurement, Production, Quality, and Engineering teams
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, ambiguous startup environment where initiative, ownership, and adaptability are essential
