Job Purpose

The Manufacturing Process Engineer will enable utilization of the MRP system for scheduling by providing accurate time studies and Methods of Manufacturing (MoMs) for all non-machining operations at the factory. This role interacts with Assembly, Deburr, Wash, and QC Inspection. This role defines and improves manufacturing steps for new and existing products, translating product requirements into scalable and repeatable processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with product and manufacturing teams to define take time, throughput targets, and resource needs (equipment, labor, space) to support forecasted production volumes
  • Work with the HSSE team to assess risks and ensure that new equipment and processes meet internal safety and ergonomic standards.
  • Drive process improvements aimed at scrap reduction and cost savings using root cause analysis, lean tools and data-driven decision making.
  • Oversee the implementation of manufacturing processes by collaborating with in-house technicians and external suppliers. Coordinate setup and process validation while maintaining technical ownership.
  • Define functional requirements for tooling, fixturing, and equipment, including identifying opportunities for automation or capital investment to improve productivity. Partner with suppliers to deliver reliable solutions, and lead their implementation, testing, and validation.
  • Write and maintain detailed work instructions, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and process documentation to ensure repeatable and high-quality production.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in manufacturing environment. Preference for medium mix/medium volume machine shop setting.
  • ERP system user or super user such as Epicor, SAP, Oracle, E2/JobBoss, ProShop. Epicor preferred.
  • Analytical and critical thinking skillset to debug complex process problems and provide robust solutions including Root Cause, Corrective Action.
  • Proven CAD Software experience with 3D Modeling and print creation with systems such as Solidworks, CREO, AutoCAD, etc. Solidworks experience preferred.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills and ability to interpret information across several departments such as Production Control, Quality Assurance, and floor operations teams.
  • Proven ability to work in highly dynamic and fast paced settings and to organize moving targets into achievable goals and timelines.
  • Project Management skills to lead cross functional teams toward development and completion of standardized processes (SOPs)

The annual base salary range for this position is $81,669 to $112,295.70.
